Hello everyone, hope that you've enjoyed your weekends before another busy week arrives! My weekend has been h a p p e n i n g.
Not my usual kind of weekend but I liggit, a new old-experience. I'll tell you why it's a "new old-experience" later in my entry. So this weekend, I spent one & a half on it heading down West Coast Park to support Kai & the guys plus Sher for their developmental tourny! It was Kai's first ever Ultimate Frisbee match & I had to go down to watch/support him, wouldn't miss it for anything. Idk, I feel that first matches are very important & significant. Or rather, "first" _____ (anything) is important. Kinda like a new milestone you've hit in life.
That's why in baby photo albums you have captions like "First time at the zoo", "First time taking a bubble bath", "First day in kindergarten", "First time taking a plane" - you guys get my drift right? See, that's why first love, first kiss are also important/significant right?
Wanted to go support them for an entire of Sunday but Kai said it was troublesome and time-consuming for me & didn't want to waste my Sunday since there weren't many matches for the day (sweet boy being so thoughtful) BUT I was so reluctant to agree to him but ended up giving in to him pffft. The initial plan was to not even go down today but I decided to watch one of his noon matches before heading to my gramp's.
While waiting for Kai's match, I spotted two fathers playing soccer with their sons. It was so heartwarming & adorable to see that scene that I had to take a picture of it. If I'm not wrong, one was a Japanese duo and the other was from Korea. Awww, father-son bonding time. I think Kai would be those super sporty dad that brings his kids out for sports weekly hehe. There was this Korean boy who was so focus on scoring goals with his dad, hansum young fella.
Too focused on the game that I didn't take many photos. Spot Kai (hint: guy in black in the middle of the photo). To be honest, though it was Kai's first match & he started really training for it recently, he is really quite good! But I'm not that surprise because sports runs in his blood, like he is a natural in any sport. Take an hour or two to teach him & he can gets the ropes really fast. Plus Ultimate requires tons of running and agility & Kai's damn good at it so in other words :
"MY BOYF IS TALENTED"
kekeke Imma super proud girlf boasting a little *sheepish grin* about my boyfriend.
Got tropical feel not? hahaha
A beautiful flower fell on my slipper & it was in perfect condition, just had to take a photo with it hahaha! #lameexcuses #justwanttotakeselfie
Two-toned after standing for the entire Saturday though there was no sun. It amazes me how there's no sun ( it rained twice and it was so cloudy) but my skin's burnt !! WHHUUTTT.
/SATURDAY/
Me waiting for Kai's last match of the day.
I woke up at 5.15AM (super early omg, never ever woke up at 5AM in my life) because we had to meet at 6AM at yishun mrt. Registration was at 7AM hence the outrageous waking & meeting time. I think I'm weird because I think that waking up at 5AM is easier than 6AM, what logic.
So initially, I followed Cuen around like his PA since he was the only one not playing & I didn't know anyone there which was super awkz cause the circle of people playing Ultimate is really small so everyone technically knows everyone plus everyone was in dri-fit and frisbee shorts while I was in tank top & denim. Talk about being the odd one out hehs. But it was really great that I got to make friends with quite a few people from NP & SP.
After watching a few matches & tons of asking of questions, I got the entire idea of Ulti matches, rules, lingo etc. Very happening plus the over-whelming team spirit, I liggit.
The reason why it's a new old-experience is because it reminded me of TKD tournys. The whole feel, the team-spirit, how everyone knew everyone in the small circle, hearing and identifying names of the pros all around etc. It made me miss being part of a team, part of the action, going around to wish people good luck & also receiving others' well wishes, doing warm-ups and drills before matches :'(
So that's why though I didn't manage to sit down at all because there's no sitting area & it was humid and it the rain didn't exactly help but I liked it. I really did, it was so refreshing and it kinda felt like home for awhile. I didn't mind standing the entire day, bracing the sun/heavy showers, running to seek shelter when it poured heavily out of the blue, walking through the muddy field, not having my meals, I didn't mind at all because I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I love being part of it. That long lost feeling suddenly rekindling in my heart.
Plus I really really really wanted to be at all of Kai's matches to watch & support him. I just wanted to be there to witness everything, him laying out, him lay-d-ing, him making mistakes, him flying around the field like no ones business, him doing drills, him being so "argh" when it was so "argh". I just want to be there.
After awhile, Cuen had to help his team & couldn't acc me so I was baby-sitted by Kaiyang and Cuen for the day. I felt like an object being passed around HAHAHA but it was good cause I learnt plenty from the two of them.
This was taken after it poured, can you see how muddy it was?
My boyfriend standing like a boss HAHAHA notice how he's shirt is white in this photo & now look at the next photo
Kai standing like a model but see how he's covered in Mud Hahaha
You'll always be my No.1 Champ (;
/FRIDAY/
Got to meet Syafiq for dinner and we coincidentally bumped into our princess, Angela!! Reunion at long last hehe. Syafiq randomly asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him & I agreed because we've not met for awhile. Told him to ask Angela but that busy girl couldn't make it so we went ahead w/o her.
But who knew when we were in Pastamania waiting for fiq to break fast, I spotted Angela's friend walking outside Pastamania & I had a gut feel Angela would appear so I told him about it. Then a minute or two, he said "eh it's Angela leh" HAHAHAH telepathy or what.
Not looking forward to the next few weeks because more assignments will be due & my to-dos are piling up :(
